Join the Truong Yen Festival.
The Truong Yen Festival, also called the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Festival, is one of the most traditional festivals in Ninh Binh. Lasting from the 9th to the 11th of March, the Truong Yen Festival takes place at Hoa Lu Temple to pay tribute to King Dinh Tien Hoang, who chose Ninh Binh as the capital city of Vietnam in his empire, and King Le Dai Hanh—his successor, who played a huge role in building and defending this land.
The festival will be divided into two main parts: the ceremonies—including the processions and sacrificial rituals—and the carnival—including various traditional folk games like mop-flag battles, wrestling, and tug of war, or exciting competitions like cooking competitions or singing contests.
